Dear EUHOFA INTERNATIONAL Members, Companions and Friends:

For 2009 we have the great pleasure of inviting you to participate in the

48th EUHOFA INTERNATIONAL World Congress from October 18 - 23 to
Bad Hofgastein, Bischofshofen and Salzburg.

The Salzburg Tourism Schools are well known for their high reputation. Being founded after World War II in Mattsee close to the city of Salzburg the course was soon transferred to Bad Gastein as one of the main winter sports areas of the time. the 1950s the courses were held at the Grand Park Hotel in Bad Hofgastein. The need of tourism education in the municipal area of the capital led to the foundation of the Klessheim school in the imperial castle of Klessheim and the Kavalierhaus which has become an excellent event centre for more than 40 years and a training centre in the same way as the Grand Park Hotel in Bad Hofgastein. Bischofshofen was founded in 1980 and has proved to be a centre of gastronomic art for the area.

Today more than 1.200 students are educated in five different course programs in the three schools. The international Institute of Tourism and Hotel Management as well as the University of applied Sciences complete the offer of highly
recommended tourism education in Austria on a secondary, tertiary as well as on an international level.

For more than 60 years the Salzburg Tourism Schools have inspired technology and progress in the tourism industry in their most impressive careers. The congress speakers will represent the wide range of international and national careers of our alumni.

The 2009 congress theme

"New Trends and Old Traditions"

enhances the dynamics of change in the industry and the ways of creative teaching in schools. Three main lines are followed in three academic sessions:

- New Trends in the Industry - Challenges for Schools
- Industry and Education - New Technologies in New of Teaching
- Practical Knowledge and Skills - More than Ever the Backbone of Our Success

We are looking forward to welcoming you to the 48th world congress to Bad Hofgastein, Bischofshofen and Klessheim to “feel the inspiration” of our beautiful country.
